THIS IS A HUGE RANT- BEWARE!

So... last night was our second football game. The band played at half-time as always to entertain everyone since the football team certainly wasn't doing that. The oppsoing teams band played their show and left us (the home team) just enough time to perform and get off the field. So, we march on with 10 minutes left and start. Everything is going great until we get to the final tune; we do a flank manuever that sends us toward the endzone. Well.. we turn and there's a our football team coming back from break. We don't really think much of it since they usually stand in the end-zone. But then... they start hooping and hollering and being all kinds of rude. Again. we ignore them; however, I have a spot that puts me on the 20 yard line beside the end zone they are at. I go to my spot, and I nearly mow down and football player. The IDIOTS ARE ON THE FIELD WHILE WE ARE STILL PERFORMING!!!!!!! AND THE COACHES ARE JUST WATCHING!

We finish our show and come off the field with a minute left in half-time. Now... the other band had been watching us from the sideline and they are furious that our team disrespected us so. Now, we get a break from playing during third quarter. So... we go to get our food and talk to the other band kids. They tell us how mad they are about the football team coming onto the field during our performance and... best part... their parents are so furious that they are going to call the principal of our school and chew him out. One of our band parents (is is a very intimidating guy) goes up to our principal and chews him out for not doing something. Everyone is outraged and writing emails and letters to the school board and newspaper.

The band has had it with the ignorance of the football team; it's over. They will either apologize and learn to act right or they will look like a bunch of idiots running on the field without a band the rest of the year. If they want us there so badly to keep them pumped, they should learn how to respect us. We work just as hard as they do and practice even longer than they do. We've been nice and respected them, but they haven't returned the gesture. It's time the for the band to strike back. It is settled; if they don't come apologize, they'll go to their biggest rival game without a band. We've got more important things to do than play for them.
